Monthly dormitory safety inspection
Walk the building with the person who can fix what you find. The sample report includes a failure so the urgent list is visible before you enter your own inspection data.
-
01 Walk
Inspect each group in the same order
Use the six groups to make fire, electrical, cooking, sanitation, structure and personal-safety checks repeatable each month.
-
02 Record
Give every failure a note and date
A short factual note and a fix-by date turn a failed check into an action that can be assigned and followed up.
-
03 Escalate
Print the urgent list separately
The report calculates the pass percentage and pulls every failed item into its own list so a manager can see what needs action first.

Questions to check
A recurring checklist is useful when it produces actions that someone can close, not just a score.
Why is a failed check shown in the sample?
The default data deliberately includes failures so a crawler and a first-time visitor can see the urgent-items section. Replace it with the result of your own walk.
How is the pass percentage calculated?
Passes are divided by all applicable checks. Not-applicable checks are left out of the denominator, while every failed check is counted as needing action.
What belongs in a fix-by date?
Use the date by which the responsible person can complete and verify the fix. If the issue is urgent, follow your escalation process immediately rather than waiting for the date.
Can I mark a check not applicable?
Yes, when the condition genuinely does not exist in the building or round. Keep the reason in your local record if an auditor may ask why it was excluded.
Are these checks a legal certification?
No. They are a practical inspection record. Reference figures and local requirements must be checked against current regulation and the customer’s social-audit standard.
